When To Go
In Southern California, you can always count on endless days of sunshine with warm nights from May to November. Los Angeles is notorious for it's smog though, and it is at it's worst when the temperatures are at their highest, which is between July and August. Along the coast, mornings can be hazy and overcast, especially in May or June. The coast of Northern California is wetter and cooler than the south, it's summers are cooled by sea breezes and fogs, with the winters generally quite mild and wet.
Inland, the deserts are warm, even in the winter. Unbearably hot temperatures are not unusual in the summer, with the mecury rising above 120F. If you are into serious snow, head to the mountains where hiking trails and ski hills are located. Take advantage of well-groomed slopes along the Sierra Nevada mountains and around Lake Tahoe
